Important information before you buy

  • All of our products are second-hand, vintage, or antique.
  • Particularly with older vintage and antique pieces, certain areas of the fabric or seams may have weakened over time. Even with careful wear, friction, pulling, or stress may cause damage or tears. Please keep these age-related characteristics in mind when purchasing and handling these textiles.
  • As a rule, our historical textiles do not come with certificates of authenticity or documentation. Information about their materials, age, and origin is based on our careful assessment and is intended as a guide. Due to the age of these pieces and the lack of supporting documentation, we cannot guarantee that all such information is completely accurate.

  • Especially with vintage and antique items, characteristic storage odors may still be present, for example from camphor, other moth repellents or textile protection products, or long-term storage. Repeated airing in a dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight may gradually reduce these odors. However, some odors may persist for a longer time.

  • Please note that washing or dry cleaning may not completely remove these odors. In some cases, existing odors may even become more noticeable after cleaning. We therefore recommend airing the garment several times in the shade before considering any cleaning.

  • Care and Cleaning

    • As a general rule, we recommend avoiding washing or cleaning vintage kimono and haori whenever possible. This is particularly important for antique pieces, as their delicate historical textiles require special care.

    • We advise against both machine washing and hand washing, as these may cause discoloration, shrinkage, deformation, or damage.

    • Care after wearing is especially important: Gently dab areas that have come into contact with perspiration using a clean, dry cotton cloth, without rubbing. Then hang the kimono or haori in a shaded, well-ventilated place and allow it to air out completely before folding.

    • Even if you do not wear your kimono or haori for an extended period, we recommend airing it in the shade on a dry day two or three times a year. Avoid direct sunlight.

    • If cleaning becomes necessary, we recommend consulting a suitable professional cleaner beforehand. Professional dry cleaning may be an alternative to washing with water, but it also carries risks for delicate vintage and antique textiles. In particular, the structure, shape, or surface texture of the fabric may change.

    • We are not liable for damage caused by improper cleaning. Your statutory rights regarding defective goods remain unaffected.

  • Single-person operation: Responses to inquiries and shipping may take 2–3 days.

  • All of our items are one-of-a-kind. If multiple orders are placed at the same time, the order will be processed for the person who completed the purchase first according to the system. Please note that your order is only considered confirmed once you receive the order confirmation email.
  • It is also possible that the same items are being offered at weekly markets or larger events at the same time. We strive for quick inventory management, but we ask for your understanding.
  • Please note: We make every effort to display the colors of our products in the photos as accurately as possible. However, the perception of colors may vary depending on your monitor or screen settings.

At markets, we offer our products at the lowest possible prices. However, in the online shop, new pricing applies, so the same product may be priced differently. We appreciate your understanding.

  • If the house number is missing or the address is incomplete, we will contact you by email to confirm the details. If a phone number is provided, we may also contact you via SMS or WhatsApp to ensure smooth delivery.
  • If we do not receive a response within a certain period of time, we reserve the right to cancel your order. Thank you for your understanding.

【Statutory Rights Regarding Defective Second-Hand Goods】

Our items are second-hand vintage and antique pieces. We describe their condition, known signs of wear, and special characteristics as accurately as possible in the product descriptions and photographs. Please review this information carefully before purchasing.

Statutory rights regarding defective goods apply to defects for which claims are available under applicable law. Damage caused by improper use or handling after delivery is generally not covered.

With your express and separate agreement at the time of purchase, we reduce the limitation period for statutory claims relating to defects in second-hand goods from two years to one year from delivery. Statutory exceptions remain unaffected.

Your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal remains unaffected.

We kindly ask you to consider the age-related characteristics of our vintage and antique pieces when making your purchase decision, and to place an order only if you are comfortable with the described condition and the special characteristics of older textiles.

If you have any questions about our kimono or haori before or after your purchase, or if you experience any problems, please feel free to contact us. We will review your concerns and do our best to find a suitable solution within our capabilities.

"Please check our guidelines – we hope you find your favorite kimono and enjoy it for a long time."
