      Description

Antique Haori with vertical stripes in pink and purple, presumably from the 1920s to 1930s.
The design is reminiscent of Meisen and Kasuri weaving, while the subtly muted purple evokes the depth of old traditional dyes. The fine irregularities and soft feel of the fabric clearly convey the handcrafted character of that era.

It is not a purely classical pattern. The gently blurred oval shapes, rather, possess an almost modern, graphic effect and appear surprisingly avant-garde for their time.

The lining features a large cloud motif in vermillion and natural white, embodying the typical Japanese aesthetic of expressing beauty precisely in hidden details. Not flashy luxury, but a quiet, refined "Iki" character - that elegant Japanese form of understated style consciousness - shapes this piece.
The natural aging and slight fading of the colors additionally lend the Haori a soft, atmospheric depth that only true antiques possess.

The fabric shows overall abrasion, weakened threads, and small holes, revealing the delicate quality of old silk.
Of course, the fabric also has great potential for remake or textile work, but the fact that this Haori has been preserved in its original form to this day is a significant part of its value.

A piece for people who not only seek perfection but appreciate the special aesthetics, atmosphere, and transience of genuine Japanese antiques.

*Both the outer fabric and the lining show age-related signs of wear such as fabric abrasion and small holes.
