Description
A bright green antique Haori, presumably from the 1920s to 1940s. A piece about which one can only say: beautiful.
The green is strong and deep, but by no means dark. Depending on the light, the woven pattern subtly emerges, giving the fabric a very elegant depth. From a distance, the Haori appears almost simple and serene, but up close, one can discern fine floral and botanical jacquard patterns that lend the piece a particularly refined and high-quality appeal.
A very special detail is the white bird crest on the back. Such a depiction is not seen too often, and compared to more geometrically appearing family crests, this motif has a softer, almost playful effect. It stands out beautifully against the rich green and almost looks like a small graphic design element.
The lining is also extraordinarily beautiful. Orange, white, and yellow harmonize wonderfully with the green of the outer fabric without competing with it. Fans, pine trees, plum blossoms, and geometric motifs recall classic Japanese patterns and ensure that the inside of the Haori also appears very decorative and lively.
This Haori may not be a piece for a very subtle combination, but styled just right, it unfolds a very special effect. Those who enjoy unusual colors, fine weaving structures, and special details will find a truly unique piece with strong character here.
