      Description

This antique Haori presumably dates from the 1920s to the 1940s.

The fabric has a deep blue-violet base color and is adorned with long, drawn-out leaves reminiscent of susuki grass or bamboo leaves. Red maple leaves appear intermittently, giving the pattern additional depth and a beautiful color accent.

While floral motifs often take center stage in kimonos and haoris, this flowing leaf pattern appears significantly calmer and more subdued. The combination of the dark blue-violet, the yellowish-golden leaves, and the red accents gives the piece a very elegant yet striking appearance.

The lining also showcases the special charm of antique Haori. Orange maple leaves and other classic motifs appear on a warm, slightly cream-colored background. The bolder coloring on the inside creates a beautiful contrast to the subdued exterior and emphasizes the characteristic charm of antique Japanese clothing.

As it is a longer Haori, it can be worn in many versatile ways. Worn loosely over a simple outfit, it looks particularly elegant; worn with a slim belt, it creates a completely different, more modern silhouette.

An expressive piece for anyone who appreciates antique Japanese textiles with calm coloring and a special pattern.

*The stains shown in the photos are present on the outer fabric. Overall, the Haori shows signs of age-related wear, and the lining also has slight soiling.

Antique and older vintage Haori may show age-related signs of wear. Visible imperfections are described as accurately as possible and documented photographically. Please consider that these are older or antique unique items when purchasing.
