      Description

This is an exceptional antique Japanese haori from the late Taishō to early Shōwa period (c. 1920–1935).
The design is based on fine Kanoko-Shibori dyeing techniques (traditional Japanese binding dyeing) and features an expressive geometric pattern that reflects the high craftsmanship of this era.

The high-contrast color combination of deep violet and soft yellow is particularly characteristic of antique Japanese textiles and gives the piece a strong visual presence. This color aesthetic is typical of Taishō Romanticism and early Japanese Modernism.

The lining is dyed in an elegant purple bokashi gradient (shading technique), which gives the haori added depth and sophistication. Such elaborately designed linings were typical of high-quality garments of that era.

The outer fabric is made of silk and is in good condition for its age. The lining shows signs of wear consistent with its age, including light soiling and some age-related material weakening in places (see photos). There may also be a few very small holes or fine tears. However, these do not affect the structure and have no significant impact on the garment's wearability or durability.

This patina is characteristic of authentic antique textiles and underlines the historical value and unique character of this piece.

Please note: This is an antique item, therefore signs of age are possible. Thank you for your understanding.
