The slightly violet indigo color gives this piece a calm yet vibrant appearance.
The pattern of slightly blurred triangles is reminiscent of a Kasuri-like (ikat-like) structure and displays a soft, almost handcrafted irregularity. The kimono was made from textured silk with fine irregularities in the yarn and was originally used as everyday wear.
The slightly longer sleeves are characteristic of older kimonos and emphasize its special vintage character.
The inner lining shows overall soiling, typical of aged silk, which reflects the history of the piece. The yellow hem area forms a beautiful contrast to the deep indigo blue of the outer fabric.
The outer fabric itself shows no noticeable stains, but slight, stripe-like color variations in the indigo are visible. These can be considered part of the material properties and aging.
Overall, the kimono shows signs of wear, but is wonderfully suitable for wearing open as a haori or for modern combination with an obi or belt.
