Description
At the end of the 1930s, a time when Japan oscillated between tradition and modernity,
This kimono was created using genuine Kanoko-Shibori (fine hand-tying) – designed for women,
who also appreciated a quiet, understated beauty in everyday life.
The entire surface is decorated with fine Kanoko-Shibori, entirely done by hand.
The small, not perfectly uniform dots give the fabric a natural rhythm.
and a noticeable depth.
The reduced color scheme in a calm shade of blue exemplifies the elegant aesthetic of the
Japanese Shōwa Modernism.
The outer fabric was originally folded and fixed to adjust the body length,
Only then was the feed added.
The lining is made of white silk and is in good condition overall.
However, due to the age of this antique piece, there are a few minor signs of wear.
and small stains are present.
This kimono can be used both as a traditional garment
as well as being worn as a textile fashion item – similar to a coat or dress,
which blends effortlessly into a modern wardrobe.
It can be worn openly over shirts, knitwear or with trousers; the length can be adjusted if needed.
It can be individually adjusted with a belt.
For people who are not guided by trends, eras, or categories,
but choose clothes according to their own feelings.
