Description
An antique haori in a yellow-green hue with a crane motif (origami cranes), presumably from the late Taishō to early Shōwa period (approx. 1920s–1930s).
The natural, soft yellow-green hue is both calming and distinctive, giving the piece a special appeal. The large-scale arrangement of cranes on the finely crafted fabric with its subtly woven classic pattern creates an impressive, dynamic effect.
A particular highlight is the lining: it features an intricately executed Shibori pattern (Kumo-Shibori) across its entire surface, conveying the high level of craftsmanship of this haori. The contrast between the bold outer design and the delicate, detailed interior is what makes this piece so appealing.
Regarding the condition: The lining has a few very small holes (approx. 1 mm). The outer fabric has no holes, but shows slight weave shifts in places, which are consistent with its age and emphasize its authentic vintage character.
The combination of this special color scheme and the striking design is rare and gives the Haori an extraordinary presence. A Haori that even makes me hesitate to let go of it.
Also perfectly combinable with modern clothing – a unique haori that adds individuality and elegance to every outfit.
circa 1920-1930
