The background, ranging from white to natural tones, is designed with fine linear patterns; flowers in slightly muted colors are arranged on top, creating a calm and elegant effect despite the opulent presentation.
The harmonious color scheme appears vibrant without being intrusive, and gives the Haori a very elegant overall appearance. The lining features a subtle, woven pattern of flying cranes on a delicate cream-colored background – a detail that underlines the careful workmanship even in the non-visible areas.
The fabric is made of high-quality silk, presumably Rinzu silk, which develops a soft sheen depending on the angle of the light. This piece likely dates from the Taishō to early Shōwa period and, despite its age, elegantly combines traditional splendor with a modern, timeless design. An exceptionally stylish antique haori.
