Description
A bright red haori with a fine, traditional shibori pattern.
This piece was probably made in the middle Shōwa period (approx. 1950s–1960s).
The countless tiny bonds of the Shibori create a vibrant structure that changes its appearance depending on the light. Despite the monochromatic design, this results in remarkable depth and expressiveness.
On the reverse side unfolds a motif of flowing water and blossoms – a composition in which both stillness and movement are palpable. It lends the Haori a special tension between restraint and presence.
From the front, it looks clean and elegant.
In motion, a more powerful, expressive design is revealed on the reverse side – its appeal lies precisely in this contrast.
Red is a strong color.
But this red doesn't appear loud, but rather dignified and full of character.
For moments when you want to give your appearance a clear direction.
For people who want to express their personality consciously, but with style – regardless of gender.
A haori for all those who combine individuality with attitude.
ca. 1950-1960
