Description
A beautiful vintage hanhaba obi from Japan with an elegant butterfly motif.
The combination of deep dark green and warm rust red is particularly striking. Fine gold-colored lines outline numerous blossoms, among which large and small butterflies can be seen. The muted colors give the obi a calm, elegant appearance, while the butterflies add a charming, playful touch.
The blossoms resemble peonies, which traditionally stand for beauty and prosperity in Japanese art. Butterflies are also popular motifs in Japanese design and are associated with beauty and transformation, among other things.
The reverse side is in a similar warm red tone, but features a much simpler design. Depending on the tying technique, the two sides can be showcased differently and create varied combinations.
The fabric is pleasantly soft and ties very well. This also makes this obi wonderful for various creative tying techniques.
A versatile vintage hanhaba obi that combines traditional Japanese motifs with a harmonious color scheme and a special retro charm.
