Description
This Japanese vintage haori, likely dating from the 1950s to 1970s, is characterized by its deep reddish-brown hue and its fine, expressive pattern.
The dark brown fabric feels particularly smooth and pleasant. Over it, reddish-brown, curved lines reminiscent of traditional Japanese scale or wave patterns flow. Unlike strictly regularly arranged motifs, the flowing lines here create an abstract, lively design.
Between the lines are scattered blossoms in red and green tones, as well as shimmering silver-colored floral motifs. The restrained color palette combines with subtle splendor, giving the haori a calm yet expressive aura. The silver-colored parts appear to have resulted from the weave structure; silver threads may have been used for this. Depending on the incidence of light, a fine shimmer emerges, lending the fabric a special depth.
The lining consists of a white fabric with an elegant shimmer, on which large, chrysanthemum-like blossoms subtly emerge. Its understated design highlights the deep colors of the outer fabric and complements the noble overall impression of the haori.
Even when worn with casual clothes, this haori adds a special touch to the outfit. It pairs wonderfully with simple trousers or jeans and creates a particularly stylish effect over a dress or with more elegant attire.
A vintage haori that combines the beauty of traditional Japanese patterns with a calm, timeless elegance. Whether for everyday wear, a visit to the theater, or a party – it can be combined in many ways and worn in a very personal style.
