      Description

A vintage haori, probably dating from the 1940s to the 1960s, and one of my particular favorites from this selection.

At first glance, the pattern may seem familiar, but it is precisely the combination of outer fabric and lining that makes this haori so extraordinary. The outer fabric features an abstract design of wide, multi-interlocking lines in grey, black, and white. Delicate pink and gold accents create subtle highlights in between, adding depth to the overall subdued color scheme.

The design appears surprisingly modern and, from a slightly greater distance, almost resembles contemporary textile design. While this haori belongs to the vintage era, it is already relatively close to the aesthetic of older, antique pieces. Especially among the many floral haori of this period, this graphic, almost abstract pattern clearly stands out, giving the piece a particularly stylish and striking look.

Another highlight is the lining. Large floral and leaf shapes in ocher, orange, green, and black create a strong contrast to the rather cool outer fabric. The color palette is completely different—yet both work together surprisingly harmoniously. It is precisely this interplay of exterior and interior that makes this haori so appealing.

An exceptional piece for anyone who wants to combine the charm of a genuine vintage haori with a surprisingly modern, almost timeless design.

*There are stains on the sleeves, as seen in the photos.

Antique and older vintage haori may show age-related signs of wear. Visible imperfections are described and documented photographically as precisely as possible. Please note when purchasing that these are older or antique unique pieces.
