      Description

This vintage Japanese Haori, likely dating from the 1950s to the 1970s, captivates with its exceptional design. It is also one of my personal favorites.

At first glance, the abstract pattern may seem simple. However, upon closer inspection, you discover that the entire fabric is adorned with a fine, interwoven base pattern. Depending on the light and movement, it subtly emerges, giving the outer fabric a beautiful depth.

Fine, irregular lines in mustard yellow, salmon pink, brown, and white overlap on the gray ground. They evoke an abstract painting and create a lively, modern design. Despite its casual appeal, the Haori appears particularly stylish and sophisticated due to the harmoniously coordinated, understated colors.

The lining is a very special eye-catcher. A colorful floral pattern in red, pink, blue, and green unfolds on a cream-colored background. The playful blossoms and vibrant color palette exude wonderful retro charm. Although the lining differs significantly from the abstract outer fabric, both sides harmonize in a surprisingly beautiful way. I actually considered keeping this piece for my own collection.

The Haori can be wonderfully integrated into casual outfits and adds an individual, stylish accent even to simple clothing. Whether with jeans, simple trousers, or over a dress – it offers many possibilities to express one's own style in a special way.

Even for those who already own a Haori, this piece is a beautiful addition to their wardrobe. A characterful vintage Haori, whose outer fabric and lining each unfold their own unique beauty and together form an exceptionally harmonious whole.
