      Description

This Japanese vintage haori, likely from the 1960s-1980s, captivates with its deep, gently shimmering black tone and elegant floral design.

Various blossoms, including chrysanthemums, as well as long leaves resembling bamboo leaves, are depicted on the black fabric. At the lower edge of the motifs, overlapping, arc-shaped lines reminiscent of Seigaiha—a traditional Japanese wave pattern—can be found. Together, they create the impression of a stylized landscape with plants by the water.

Some details of the chrysanthemums feature a delicate, golden shimmering embellishment, reminiscent of gold threads or gold painting. Depending on the light, this subtle shimmer emerges, lending the haori a restrained, special elegance.

The lining surprises with a delicate pink wave pattern, creating a beautiful contrast to the black outer fabric and its predominantly green hues. The bright, playful interior reveals another facet of Japanese clothing: even details that are only occasionally visible can be thoughtfully designed, giving the garment its very own character. The pink adds a stylish, unexpected accent when worn.

Despite its playful pattern, the haori appears very sophisticated due to its calm color palette. It can be combined with simple everyday wear as well as more elegant outfits. Worn over a dress or with a more festive wardrobe, its special aura comes beautifully to the fore.

Whether for a theater visit, a party, or another special occasion—this vintage haori adds an individual touch to any outfit, combining Japanese tradition with timeless elegance.
