      Description

This vintage Japanese haori, presumably from the 1960s to 1980s, features a deep dark blue hue and an expressive fan pattern.

On the dark blue background, fan motifs decorated with flowers combine with delicate geometric lines to create a harmonious design. The fan is a traditional Japanese motif. Due to its shape, which expands further and further when opened, it has always been considered a symbol of growth, happiness, and positive development.

The delicate, arc-shaped lines that extend across the entire fabric are reminiscent of Seigaiha, the traditional Japanese wave pattern. Unlike the densely arranged semicircles of the classic Seigaiha pattern, the lines here are more expansive and generously designed. The deliberately used open spaces give the design a modern, light effect. The soft colors of the fan motifs stand out particularly beautifully against the deep blue.

The lining features small patterns in delicate pink and violet on a white background. It creates a beautiful contrast to the outer fabric and reveals a playful, charming side of the haori. Even when taken off, the loving design of the inside can be discovered.

Although the design is based on traditional Japanese motifs, the haori's clear patterning and expressive coloring make it wonderfully combinable with modern clothing. With jeans or simple trousers, it creates a casual look, while over a dress or with a more elegant wardrobe, it unfolds a special, stylish effect.

This vintage haori combines tranquility and vibrancy and is suitable for both everyday wear and special occasions. Of course, it can also be worn traditionally over a kimono. For those who appreciate Japanese patterns and the special aesthetics of the haori, and at the same time want to combine them in their own way with Western clothing, it is a versatile and characterful piece.
