Description
This is an antique haori from the late Taishō period to the early Shōwa period (c. 1920–1940).
It is made of pure silk and is characterized by a smooth drape and an elegant, subtle sheen.
The understated check pattern of the front is complemented by a bright red lining with cloud motifs – a typical stylistic feature of that era, where outward restraint and hidden sophistication were valued.
Despite its historical origins, this Haori has a surprisingly modern and timeless appeal, making it a particularly valuable piece.
It is suitable both for lovers of antique kimonos and for integration into modern outfits.
The lining shows slight signs of wear due to age.
These are typical of the material and time period and underline the authentic vintage character of the piece.
Please note: This is an antique item, therefore signs of age are possible. Thank you for your understanding.
ca. 1920-1940
