Description
Men's haori from the late Taisho to early Showa period (c. 1920–1955).
The upper material is finely woven, solid-colored and has a subtly elegant look – typical for men's haori of that time.
The lining motif is particularly striking: It shows Fuji and a Daimyō procession in Edo style, complemented by a signature and a seal stamp.
The motifs are painted with a subtle gradient, not printed, which indicates handcrafted production and original workmanship.
The upper material is reminiscent of Ōshima-Tsumugi silk; it is light, supple, and comfortable to wear.
This haori piece conveys the charm of traditional Japanese textile art and is very attractive to both collectors and lovers of authentic vintage clothing.
The overall condition is good, but it shows clear signs of wear.
