Description
Haori with Samekomon pattern from the 1950s–1960s.
A beautiful piece where the traditional Japanese Samekomon pattern harmoniously blends with the tranquil brown tones of the fabric. The fine woven dots and meticulous structure convey the warmth of artisanal craftsmanship and an exceptionally subtle aesthetic.
From a distance, the Haori appears almost plain and monochromatic, but upon closer inspection, the delicate movements of the dot pattern emerge – a wonderful example of the understated and refined elegance that makes Japanese design so special.
The inner lining is particularly fascinating.
The motifs of fans and small birds, as well as the gentle color fields, lend a poetic beauty to the interior. It is a design typical of Japanese kimono culture: beauty that doesn't have to be immediately visible, but quietly unfolds in detail.
When I first held the Haori, I initially thought it had no lining at all. But it was precisely the lining, subtly incorporated only in the sleeves, and its exceptionally tasteful design that immediately captivated me and completely drew me in.
A special Haori for people who appreciate the quiet beauty of Japanese textiles and the subtle elegance of traditional clothing.
